August 2016

Welcome to our August newsletter when we are clearly thinking about warm summer evenings, ice-cold beer or rosé and just letting go.

Let a man walk ten miles steadily on a hot summer’s day along a dusty English road, and he will soon discover why beer was invented. Gilbert K. Chesterton

“Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. For those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year. You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. Summer just opens the door and lets you out.” Deb Caletti, Honey, Baby, Sweetheart

Talking of things well-chilled, we invite you to raise a glass because finally, after all the promises, our shiny new website is up and running. Yes, has been updated, upgraded and turned into something far more exciting than ever before.

Firstly, our stock room will always be up-to-date – if something gets sold it will either say so or simply not be there; secondly, we will build up our ‘useful information’ pages, a place to find the sort of material that you often see dotted around the gallery, imparting interesting  facts; and thirdly, we will be able to keep our newsletters much shorter (in the future) because you will find the full text on the website with pictures and buttons to direct you to the various pages that might be of interest.

Be patient because we are still getting used to the whole thing ourselves and it will take us a little time to iron out all glitches and get much smoother with our own maintenance of the site. We are working towards being able to upload everything in real time and simply use the monthly newsletter to draw your attention to the new things and let you know about future developments at the gallery.
