Issue 1

Welcome to the first of our monthly newsletters.

We have decided to introduce the e-newsletter because we wanted to keep you in the picture (no pun intended!) with things that we have going on at the gallery so that you know when there is something coming up that may be of particular interest to you. We intend to keep it short and sweet; we will simply inform you about some new stock items, the featured potter of the month and future upcoming shows…nothing more. We obviously can’t cover everything in the newsletter, and photographs of pieces rarely do justice to the original, so please do continue to drop in for a browse and a chat.

Featured Artist – Gordon House

Sylvester Fine Art is delighted to present the artist Gordon House. In addition to a selection of beautiful etchings, we are privileged to be able to bring two of his paintings to your attention. Not often available for sale, these larger than life canvases showcase the wonderful work of this spirited artist whose art was heavily influenced by his Welsh roots.

Jugs, Mugs and Lisa Hammond

Each month we will showcase the work of one potter in the main gallery to illustrate the depth and breadth of their work and our next pot showcase features the distinctive and beautiful work of British potter, Lisa Hammond.  With prices starting from as little as £75 we will have a variety of her pieces for you to come and buy.

In addition, with summer allegedly just around the corner, you might find one of our fabulous jugs just the ticket for mixing up that much-needed Pimms or lemonade.  Our jugs, by leading potters such as Mike Dodd, Jim Malone and Clive Bowen, come in all shapes and sizes so do please drop in and make your selection.

As with all our pots, we invite you to pick them up and enjoy handling them before deciding which one to take home.
