Issue 30

As the sun continues to reign supreme over this Indian Summer, we welcome you to our October newsletter in which we shall be exalting the virtues of some of the 20th century British and European Masters. As our original artists’ poster show draws to a close we shall be rehanging with the wonders of Matisse, Dali, Moore and Hockney, to name but a few.

It is worth noting that our posters will not be disappearing immediately so if you haven’t been able to make it to the show yet, don’t panic there are still some wonderful pieces to be had and time for you to buy them.

Marc Chagall

We have also decided on our final show of the year and we shall be going out with a bang as big and loud as the fireworks that abound in November; Marc Chagall.

It has been three years since we had a dedicated Chagall show so we are delighted to be able to fill our walls with his fabulous work once again. Chagall was a prolific print-maker and it is to all our benefits that he embraced this medium so whole heartedly because it makes his work accessible to us all.

We have decided to have an opening weekend during which time you are welcome to join us for a glass of something whilst contemplating which Chagall will be the right one for you. Mark the dates in your diary now – Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November with the show continuing for a further four weeks after that.

New Developments

As promised, we are cooking up all sorts of improvements to make your buying experience as pleasant and easy as possible.

Firstly, we are developing a brand new website. Not only will it look very smart, it will be easy to navigate and will contain more information both about the pictures as well as the artists and the processes.

Our second major development is to trial the introduction of catalogues to sit alongside our dedicated shows. As you know, we run six dedicated shows a year and we think it might be helpful to you all if we produce catalogues in support of them. Once the new website is up and running, these will also be available to read online. If you think that you would like to receive a hard copy version (the trial will be both hard copy and online) and you think we don’t have your address then either drop in and pick one up or send us your address and we will send one out to you.

Late Night Shopping and new hours

A little reminder that we are open late until 9.00pm on Thursday 8 October and that our opening hours have changed slightly:

Wednesday – Friday: 11.00am – 6.30pm
Saturday: 10.00am – 6.00pm
Sunday: 10.00am – 4.00pm

We are always happy to open by appointment outside of those hours but we hope that our earlier opening on the weekend and our late night shopping evenings are helpful to you.

As always we are here to serve at your pleasure; we will happily answer your questions and seek out specific pieces that you are looking for so don’t hesitate to drop by or give us a call or even ‘ping’ (new technical word added to the vocabulary yesterday) us an email.
